John Harbaugh reveals plan for interviewing for NFL head-coaching jobs

Don’t expect John Harbaugh to hit the interview circuit in its entirety.

The former Baltimore Ravens head coach told Fox Sports on Jan. 10 that he planned to narrow down his list of teams he is interested in speaking with to three or four organizations before beginning talks after this weekend.

Harbaugh, 63, was fired by the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday after an 8-9 season. His 18-year run with the franchise ranked as the second-longest tenure among active coaches.

Upon his dismissal, Harbaugh became the most notable candidate on the open market. He was widely linked to the New York Giants in the early going, though the Miami Dolphins emerged as a potential option Thursday by firing coach Mike McDaniel.

The other teams with vacancies are the Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, Atlanta Falcons and Las Vegas Raiders.

While Harbaugh is taking his time, several teams have already set their searches in motion, with several different candidates interviewing late this week and others scheduled to follow.
