Travis Hunter on Shohei Ohtani and who has tougher two-way position

Forget NFL comparisons, Travis Hunter is earning baseball comparisons at the NFL combine.

Hunter has been described as a dual-threat, two-way player, a ‘unicorn’ and now football’s Shohei Ohtani. It’s a lot to put on the prospect, but he is trying to do something that isn’t very common in NFL history. Despite the mounting pressure at the next level, Hunter is far from the hunted.

He remains on offense, even if he wants to be a defender too. When speaking to the media at the combine, Hunter’s confidence remained on display.

The former Colorado Buffaloes star was asked what is more difficult – being a two-way player in football or what Ohtani, the Los Angeles Dodgers star, does.

Hunter didn’t hesitate in saying that he believes football is more difficult than Ohtani pitching and hitting.

‘Probably me and what I do in football because it’s on a lot on your body,’ Hunter said. ‘Ohtani, he’s a great player, but you gotta do a lot in football.’

Hunter, who experienced plenty of success in college that resulted in winning a Heisman Trophy, will hope that translates to the next level. He’s left no doubt about wanting to continue being a two-way star.

Now Hunter won’t just have football competition, but some opponents on the baseball diamond as well.
